Potenza Technology provides
consultancy support in the development of power electronics. We
promotes an integrated approach, where the power electronics are
located next to the machine. This gives the following benefits:
Services offered include: Circuit and PCB Design - using modern tools to optimise circuit design during the design stage, thus reducing lifecycle costs. Simulation - using SPICE based tools or Simulink we can simulate circuit performance to highlight errors during the low cost design stage. Thermal
Modeling - using the latest modeling tools to identify
potential hot spots and to ensure sufficient cooling is provided when
the system is in situ. Prototype Manufacturing and Test - we have access to partner organisations through which we can provide a complete prototyping and test regime, including EMC testing, Climate testing, Reliability testing and Functionality testing. Sneak Circuit Analysis and FMEA
- safety related systems can be analysed in order to identify potential
areas of weakness in a design.
Potenza Technology provides consultancy support for the specification and/or design ogf motors and actuators. Services offered include: Magnetic Finite Element Analysis - we can provide visualisation of the magnetic component within the device. This technique is used to analyse novel topologies and to optimise the magnetic design. It is also utilised in performance prediction for new designs.
Physical Modeling - Within all actuators and motors it is vital to understand an compensate for the physical properties inherent within the design. Simulation software such as Simulink is used to understand the physical properties and their effects under dynamic conditions. This enables the system to be designed to compensate for any detrimental effects.
Magnetic Material Selection - Magnetic materials are under constant development. Potenza Technology has the experience and knowledge to select the appropriate material for the application. An example being with Neodymium based permanent magnets where a choice has to be made between a sintered or a resin bonded component.
